John Richard Lorriman was the son of Samuel Lorriman and Emma Wood and was born in East Ardsley, Yorkshire.

'Dick' was killed on 7th May 1915 whilst serving King and Country.

John Richard Lorriman wrote a letter addressed to Sister (Ellen) and brother (name not known at this time), it is dated 4th May 1915, just 3 days before he was killed.

Notification of the Burial Location of John Richard Lorriman was recieved by letter dated 13th Dec 1916.

A letter was recieved by Ellen Priestley (nee Lorriman) regarding John Richard Lorriman's personal effects.

Another letter was recieved regarding issue of the 1914-15 Star Medal awarded to John Richard Lorriman. The medal was awarded by letter dated 14th April 1920.

John Richard Lorriman was also award the Victory Medal. A letter was recieved dated 18th May 1920.

 

There is a war memorial at St Michaels Church, East Ardsley, Yorkshire which lists John Richard Lorriman.
