Gertrude Bytheway b.1880 Walsall, Staffordshire.

Gertrude was the daughter of George Bytheway (b.abt1847) and Charlotte Janet Grant (b.abt1847)

Gertrude was a Nurse with the Voluntary Aid Detachment and died during the First World War on the 31st December 1917 when the ship she was on went down after being torpedoed. She is commemorated on the Alexandria (Hadra) War Memorial Cemetery, Eygpt. Grave Ref Panel No B 42.
